Taalklassen
Op de Kamperfoelieschool hebben we twee taalklassen voor nieuwkomers. De klassen zijn speciaal bedoeld voor kinderen die de Nederlandse taal nog moeten leren omdat zij net in Nederland zijn komen wonen. Gedurende 1 jaar krijgen de kinderen in de veilige setting van de groep een taalbad, waarbij zij de basis leren van de Nederlandse taal. Een taalklas bestaat altijd uit maximaal 15 leerlingen en er kan op ieder moment in- en uitgestroomd worden.

Aanmeldprocedure
Wanneer een leerling in Nederland komt wonen dan is het wenselijk dat er zo snel mogelijk op school gestart kan worden. De eerste stap is dan het vinden van een stamschool, dit is een basisschool in de buurt van de woning van de leerling (in sommige gevallen kan dit ook de Kamperfoelieschool zelf zijn). Dit is de school waar de leerling het onderwijs zal volgen na de periode in de taalklas. Wanneer zij plek hebben voor de leerling dan zullen zij een plekje reserveren.

Daarna wordt de leerling aangemeld voor de taalklas op de Kamperfoelieschool. Het kan voorkomen dat er een wachtlijst is voor de taalklas. De stamschool zal dan het onderwijs verzorgen totdat er een plekje vrijkomt in de taalklas.

Starten in de taalklas
De eerste stap is een kennismakingsgesprek met de directie. Ouders/voogd vertellen over de leerling en bij voorkeur is de leerling hierbij aanwezig. Vooraf kan eventueel het intakeformulier alvast ingevuld worden, Dat vindt u onderaan deze pagina. Na het gesprek ontvangt u het aanmeldformulier.

Zodra wij het ingevulde aanmeldformulier retour ontvangen, zullen wij toestemming vragen aan de gemeente of wij de leerling mogen plaatsen. Wanneer hier akkoord op gegeven is, zullen wij een startmoment afspreken.

De leerkrachten nemen starttoetsen af bij de leerling en samen met de informatie uit het kennismakingsgesprek wordt er een ontwikkelingsplan opgesteld.

Onderwijs in de taalklas
In de taalklassen werken alle leerlingen op hun eigen niveau en volgens hun eigen ontwikkelingsplan. Na iedere 12 weken worden de kinderen getoetst om zo hun voortgang goed te controleren.
Na een jaar in de taalklas zouden de vooraf gestelde doelen behaald moeten zijn, wanneer dit niet het geval is dan bekijken we per leerling wat de beste vervolgstappen zijn. Zodra de doelen behaald zijn, zal de leerling de overstap maken naar de stamschool. De
Kamperfoelieschool zorgt voor een goede overdracht met de nieuwe school.

Language Classes
At the Kamperfoelieschool we have two language classes for students who just arrived in the Netherlands. The classes are specially designed for children who still need to learn the Dutch language because they just came to live in the Netherlands. For 1 year, the children will learn the basics of the Dutch language in the safe setting of the group. A language class always consists of a maximum of 15 students and they can join at any moment in the year.

Application procedure
When a student comes to live in the Netherlands, it is desirable to start school as soon as possible. The first step is to find a ‘stamschool’, which is an elementary school near the home of the student (in some cases this can also be the Kamperfoelieschool itself). This is the school where the pupil will receive education after the period in the language class. If they have room for the pupil then they will reserve a spot.

Then the student will be registered for the language class at the Kamperfoelieschool. There may be a waiting list for the language class. The ‘stamschool’ will then provide education until a spot becomes available in the language class.

Starting in language class
The first step is an introductory meeting with the principal. Parents/guardians tell about the student and preferably the student is present. You can fill out the intake form at the bottom of this page. After the interview you will receive the application form.

Once we receive the completed application form, we will ask permission from the local council to place the student. When permission is granted, we will arrange a starting date. The teachers will take some first tests with the student and together with the information from the introductory interview a development plan will be drawn up.

Education in the language class
In language classes, all students work at their own level and according to their own development plan. After every 12 weeks the children are tested in order to monitor their progress properly. After a year in the language class, the predetermined goals should be achieved; if this is not the case, we’ll look at the best next steps. Once the goals are achieved, the student will transfer to the ‘stamschool’. The Kamperfoelieschool ensures a proper transfer with the new
school.
